The Los Angeles Lakers (16-32) will take on the Portland Trail Blazers (19-27) tonight at 7:30 CT on ESPN. The Lakers will be at Portland were they will try to pick up their 17th win of the season after a historic loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Blazers are coming off a an overtime win against a pretty good Celtics team behind C.J. McCollum‘s 35 points, who I might add, has been nothing short of spectacular this year. It took a team effort nevertheless.
In the previous two meetings the Lakers lost both games by an average margin of 12 points. In the previous game vs the Blazers it looked like we had their number, until the second half began and that’s when the disaster began.
Things to look out for is the increasing development of Brandon Ingram. His game is starting to translate over into the NBA, and the once 2nd pick in the draft is starting to look like the 2nd pick in the draft. He’s averaged double figure points in 7 of the last 12 games and is averaging 11 PPG for the month of January. Ingram is not only averaging more points but its how he’s getting them. It starts with him leaving his imprint on the game by driving to the hole more and looking for his shot while simultaneously being more aggressive.
Lets hope that the Lakeshow can turn it around tonight with a win.
